Day Visits

Camp Au Sable's main focus is to provide an excellent, Christ-centered experience for our registered retreat guests and summer campers. There are times during the year, however when Camp Au Sable is available for those interested in walking the boardwalk, visiting our camp store, or touring the camp and visiting our nature center. Cabins

Our cabins are ideal for large families and youth groups. Our Cedar Village has 8 cabins, each of which serves 10 campers. Our Main Village contains six triplex cabins for a total of 18 units. Twelve of these units house ten campers, while the other six house two to three comfortably.

Activities

Camp offers a variety of year-round activities that allow guests to enjoy the outdoors through fun, adventure, and learning. Visitors can ride go-karts, spend time with the horses, or take a relaxing wagon ride through camp. Guests can also enjoy canoeing and kayaking on the lake. During the winter months, cross-country skiing and sledding are available. Activities are offered based on staff availability and weather conditions, and some activities—such as go-karts, horseback riding, and downriver canoeing—may require an additional fee.

Nature Center and Trails

The Merril Y. Fleming Nature Center provides opportunities to learn about local wildlife, ecosystems, and the natural environment of northern Michigan. Guests can explore the surrounding boardwalk and wooded trail system, offering peaceful spaces for walking, observation, and enjoying the beauty of God’s creation throughout the seasons.

Meals

Our cafeteria provides nutritious, home-style vegetarian meals for guests during their stay at camp. Menus are thoughtfully prepared to accommodate a variety of tastes while supporting a healthy and enjoyable dining experience. Vegan and gluten-free options can also be provided upon request through the group leader prior to arrival.

Meeting spaces

Camp offers a variety of meeting spaces to accommodate groups of different sizes and needs. Our auditorium provides a large gathering space for worship services, presentations, and group meetings, while smaller breakout rooms are available for classes, discussions, and small group activities. These flexible spaces allow groups to meet, learn, and connect in a comfortable setting during their time at camp.
