<h3>Matthew Jacobs Memorial Fund Guidelines</h3>
The Camp Au Sable Campership Fund has been established by donations from campers, parents, and other interested persons who want to see every child have an opportunity to attend camp. The funds are distributed on a first come, first serve basis to those who qualify until the fund is used up for the current camping season. If we received your application and the funds have been depleted, we will refund the entire amount of your deposit.
Objective
Our Campership Fund offers the opportunity to attend camp to children who would not be able to because of lack of funds. The Campership Fund is targeted to those who have an individual request, but it is not limited to one per family.
Eligibility for Campership
Please include an explanation of your need for funds on the form below, as well as a letter of recommendation from your church pastor or child's teacher on appropriate letterhead.
Type of Scholarship
Camp bases its decision to grant a partial scholarship on need. Other factors may be involved; therefore, each request is considered individually. Up to $225 is available for any camp session. If you are a member of the Michigan Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, you will receive a $15 discount off of your Campership Funds.
The Campership application fee of $50, any optional items (i.e. camp store, audio/visual items, etc.), and the balance of the camp fee not covered by the Campership Fund are the responsibility of the camper/camper's family or guardian.
Restrictions
1. The Campership is issued for one week of camp per person. 2. Camperships may be applied to any youth camp session. Family camp sessions are not included. 3. The funds will be awarded to an individual for a maximum of two consecutive years. Campers who have received the scholarship for two years and would still like to apply will be reviewed for Campership Funds on an "as funds are available" status only. We will make every effort to be fair and to afford as many campers as possible the opportunity to go to camp. 4. If discounts are applicable, they may be used.
Application Process
To request Campership funds, you must fill out the <a target="_blank" href="images/stories/Forms/2010_Campership_Request.pdf">Camp Au Sable Campership Request Form</a>. It must be sent to our office wtih your deposit of $50. If you prefer to register online you may do so, but you will need to pay the minimum deposit of $100. In order for you to receive any Campship funds, we will still need your Campership request form and appropriate letter mailed or faxed to us. We will let you know as soon as your request has been accepted by putting the Campship funds directly on your account.

Other Sources
Other sources of possible financial support for campers include: your local church, grandparents, and caring friends. Sometimes state money is available for families with foster children. You will need to check with your caseworker to see if that is a possibility.
We look forward to responding to your application! We do our best to be sure that kids have a way to attend camp. Someday when your circumstances are reversed, maybe you too will have an opportunity to donate to this fund so others can enjoy Camp Au Sable.
